What is the difference between life coaching with a life coach and therapy with a mental health professional? 

Life Coaching is based around a solution-based focus. Working closely with a Life Coach, a client’s inner (and yet-to-be untapped) potential, purpose and passion are revealed. Goals are set, strategies are planned and hopefully, through regular check-ins, results are achieved. The client’s past experience is used only as a learning tool to understand its possible impact on the present-day situation. 

Therapy or counseling with a mental health professional is typically focused around identifying and diagnosing a medically defined mental health disorder. Treatment is intended to relieve or heal by way of various mental health approaches like psychotherapy (i.e. talk therapy). Therapy increases self-awareness, which in turn helps people understand their thoughts and feelings in relation to a problem. A primary focus of sessions is understanding the past - the “why.” 


How many coaching sessions do I need to have before I see results? How frequently do I need to see a life coach? 

To obtain successful and sustainable results, it is recommended to schedule a minimum of 9 sessions. Each session is usually scheduled a week apart with shorter check-ins in between sessions.

 

What is the difference between a certified Life Coach and one that is not certified? 

A certification is not necessary for someone to call themselves a “Life Coach,” though it makes a large difference in the quality of coaching you will receive. The certifications I hold are from iPEC, one of the top coaching schools in the US and has been accredited with the International Coaching Federation since 2002. 


How much does Life Coaching cost? 

The cost of life coaching is dependent upon many factors, including where you reside, the certifications your coach holds, the amount of time and level of effort you’re willing to invest, and the goal or goals you want to achieve. The pricing for my packages is listed with the different services offered and a discount is applied to certain options.  


Why is the Energy Leadership Index Assessment (ELI) included in packages?  

The ELI is an amazing tool that quickly sets a foundation for coaching. Instead of spending several sessions discovering why you have not achieved the results in life you are seeking, the revelation begins in the very first session so that the subsequent sessions can be spent more effectively. 


Are coaching sessions done in-person or virtually? 

All coaching sessions are done one-to-one, either over the phone or via video conferencing. If meeting in person is something that is important to you, I am happy to discuss this option. 


Is Life Coaching confidential? 

YES! Trust is incredibly important in the coaching relationship. All conversations between you and me are kept 100% confidential.  


When and how do I pay for services? 

Payment is due in full upon agreement of the coaching contract. You can pay via PayPal by using the link on my website. I am happy to discuss other payment options. 


What if I am late for my appointment? 

If you are more than 10 minutes late for a session, the first time will be rescheduled without an additional fee. Subsequent tardiness will incur a $25 rescheduling fee. 


What if I have to cancel my appointment? 

If you need to cancel an appointment within less than 24 hours of your appointment there will be no fee for the first time. Subsequent cancellations will incur a $25 cancellation fee. 


What if I reach my goals and still have unfulfilled sessions? 

A full paid amount of your remaining coaching hours will be refunded to you upon your request. The remaining sessions can also be “banked” for future use. 


Who will I work with during my life coaching experience? 

For the foreseeable future, your end-to-end coaching journey will be done entirely with me – scheduling, sessions, check-ins, follow-ups – there will be no middle person. I will personally ensure that your needs are met by me.  


What are your office hours? 

I am committed to being as flexible as I can to meet your coaching needs. Email communication received Monday through Friday before 6:00 PM will be responded to within 4 hours. Email communication received after 6:00 PM will be returned by 10:00 AM the next business day. Email communication received on Saturday or Sunday will be returned by 10:00 AM on the following business day. For more urgent matters, text messages or phone calls will be returned within 2 hours. Holiday and vacation schedules will be discussed and communicated at the beginning of our coaching session.
